I create documentation to pinpoint current issues with the design and suggest ways in which it could be improved.

Ideas are brainstormed within the team to explore what problems need solving, and potential solutions or opportunities to improve the experience.

I sketch ideas such as brainstorming concepts, user flows, page categories, and illustrating potential layout ideas.

I consider whether purpose built apps are the correct design decision, or whether responsive design can be used to support mobile devices.

Analytics data can be explored to highlight drop off points, pain points in the journey and where design needs refining or researching further.

I perform or facilitate research into the real world problem that the solution is intended to solve, and identify the user needs and pain points.

I create initial wireframes both on paper and in software to illustrate concepts and ideas and to show page flows and potential layouts.

I prototype low fidelity with paper and also high fidelity with tools such as InVision and Axure which provide a simulated user journey.
